Marte Röling says about her Golden Miffy: ‘Miffy is a fantastic design, which many generations have loved, and still do! Because it is such a big icon and such a clear design, I decided, after a lot of fantasies about Miffy in fur coats, having curly hair, necklaces and false eyelashes, flowers and lots of earrings – those long ears filled with earrings – to honour her simplicity and perfection by covering her with the best gold leaf in the world. I work a lot with gold in my statues because it has qualities you can’t compare to anything else.’
