Artist: Carli Hermès (1963).
Sunshine
When Carli Hermès received his Miffy statue, he decided to remain close to his own style: projecting images and patterns on live models. He started projecting various coloured geometric shapes onto the Miffy statue to reproduced them in paint. ‘When I tried a projection in the colour gold, I immediately knew Miffy had to become completely gold. I started working with art director and visual designer Jeroen Echter to have this idea become reality. Because I wanted to add a little glamour, we decided to add dozens of golden layers with different thicknesses, in order to create a perfect second skin for Miffy. That is how Sunshine came into being.’
